Telluride Candle

Once abundant with gold and other valuable ores like copper, zinc, lead, and silver, Telluride was founded in 1878 as a mining town. In 1889, the infamous outlaw Butch Cassidy robbed the San Miguel Valley Bank here, making off with $24,580. Nearly a century later, in 1972, Telluride transformed into a ski destination with the installation of its first ski lift.
